I'm a Cry Baby, Affirmative!

Ahhh. I'm hungry!!

Just done with the test paper for my students. I need to come to the office since I didn't come yesterday. My father and little brother and his friend were here!! Oh, I miss my family so much! They went back to the hometown this morning after having breakfast together. I took my brother and his friend around Manjung and Lumut (ehemm!! I know this place quite well, now). I took them to the best places to eat and tell them stories about this province. How's that? And oh, I made my brother's and his friend's dream to ride the banana boat!! Not once, but twice! And I'm happy that they really had fun yesterday!! =D

I am trully blessed and I'm sure that my father is happy and maybe so grateful seeing me happy here with the good people whom he can count on to to look after me (even though I'm big enough and deserve to get married), as a father or parents, that's just them - to think that their daughter is still young and need to be taken care of like they did when we're small. Moreover, for someone who is as clumsy as I am that is sometimes careless, an accident-prone; he needs to be extra- worry about this one daughter out of all the other four he has.

Well, yes. I am truly blessed and I can't stop thanking Him for the life that he's given me here. (OMG..I'm about to shed a tears! such a sentimental mood I have here)!. Sometimes, when I am alone and got the time to reflect everything back, I myself can't believe that I am here now, in a totally new place, where I don't know anybody else but my brother who is not always here for sailing, new responsibilities that I think is quite big for me ( to teach Degree level is quite challenging to me for I've been dealing with younger groups back in my teaching history) and I'm doing great. Anyway, I said teaching them is quite challenging as the approach that should be implemented is rather different when dealing with the younger ones. But again, Alhamdulillah, so far, the feedbacks that I got from my dear students tell me that I'm doing the right things up to this point even though sometimes I feel like I'm doing crap.

Here, I would like to thank Kak Zam, Kak Ana and Kak Mas and Kak Ani and family for making me feel not at all alone in this new place. I feel like I have another family here. =)

My colleagues - Kak Niza, Kak Uji, Wena and Kak Maz for keeping me young and free here =). Encik Aslan for making me feel like I have an Abah here (heheh). *dem, this is really sentimental!* I think I'm getting my period. That's why it is so fragile now, my heart.

Despite the busyness and sometimes loneliness that I'm facing here, I'm still doing great because of them. Thank you, people! I heart all of you! =)

Ma, Abah, you don't have to worry about your daughter here. Maybe I'm the youngest; but like the elder sisters, this youngest is also doing great here; on the other side of the map that is a bit astray from the rest. And by the way, why does this matter? I' ve been away from my family since I'm in secondary 1?? To be away from family is normal. But well, maybe I miss my family damn muchos. And to my defense, as I grow older, I learnt to appreciate family more than friends. When I was in the boarding school, I shared every single thing with my friend. That makes sense since I lived my daily life with them - wake up, bath, meals were all with them. There was once I didn't go back home for almost two months as we were busy preparing for the PMR and the school held extra classes. However, as I grow older, finishing my university level, I started to share everything with my blood sisters, mother and sometimes my father. It was like a big transformation of a transmission. It just happened. I have no theory to strengthen my claim there. Maybe a certified family counselor can explain this?

Okay, I should stop rambling here.

But for the record, yes, I'm such a cry baby sometimes* and this is one of those moments. ;)

Alas..

Yoh! finally I got to blog! Apparently MIMET blocks certain proxies including blogger, youtube and yet to know. But thanks to Jackson, who told me about www.hidemyass.com in which we can go through all the blocked proxies that might be very important to us. Hehehe.

Nevertheless, I think I have nothing much to say. Or I should say, I have less time to think about other things but catching up on my responsibilities at this new place. I'm teaching Bachelor students which happens to be the group thathas never been taught by the permanent lecturers here until I joined. And my contact hour is 21 per week, teaching 2 Bachelor subjects and 1 Diploma subject. I am starting from scratch here. According to them, that is a normal scenario for those who just joined here. And personally to me, it is normal to see me spending time at the office on Saturdays just to plan my lessons for the whole following weeks. I take it as a challenge and most important thing is to improve my productivity.

Well, I'm getting my ryhtm here - there's a senior lecturer who is willing to teach me on how to play tennis, my senior in TESL 17, Ms. Sarah Nadiah who has succesfully dragged me into the sport activities here ( I got to play badminton and netball last week on a friendly match with IKM Lumut) * sarah, your racket is still with me*, Wena and Kak Nik who are always making me feel at home derived from the TESLian circle; Kak Niza, Kak Maz and my highly respected officemates who are always giving me guidance regarding the 'styles' we have here in MIMET. yes, I'm getting my rythm here, so far. And I hope I'll get the solid grip here before persuing on my other life activities. :)

And why is my entry sounds like an award winning speech? sheeeesh~

No, I do not win anything yet. I just want to express my gratitude on the blessings that He gave me here. :)

Okay, I feel like I'm wasting my time. I'd better get back to planning lessons! shoohs!

Welcome Aboard

Assalamualikum and good morning! :)

Haven't updated my blog for days. Been too busy with the new place, new environment, new responsibility and new friends. Syukur Alhamdulillah, He sent me to a good place, where I met good people. :)

Okay, let's make this a quickie!

1. I love the view I see every morning on my way to work. I'll cross two bridges in which one of the bridges is crossing an estuary where we can see big boats are parked. I think there's a shipyard along the estuary - yet to explore. Maybe when I got the chance, I'll snap a picture of the place.

2. I like the people in this company. They are helpful and warm. there's no gap between the academic staffs, administration staffs and the supporting staffs. We are all family. For me, I'm still taking my slow-mo to fit myself in this happy crowd.

3. My office is located at the end of the isle. Again, I think this office is just like the one of my former workplace. It is like a favourite spot where everybody comes to meet up, have breakfast together, and discussions. And, again, my office is in front of the boss's office. Just like in my former place. Oh, anyway the office is a big room of 4. I'm sharing it with four other lecturers of engineering, management and err...something like something dot dot fibre. Heheh.

4. I heard that this company is loaded with activities for the staffs - sports, celebrations, trips etc. Just what I want! To get myself back in sports! :)

5. Manjung town is a good place to live. We have everything we need here. It's just that the road here is quite confusing with all the 4-junctions. It's like layers of junctions where we can go anywhere using any junction which I found quite a problem to me. In general, I'm just not good with directions. :P

Okay, I have to meet the Dato' at 11 this morning and a medical check up at 4 this evening. Let's pray for the best while I'm here; in the new place. Again, I'm so grateful with all the blessings from Him. It makes me think about something. A better thing that I did not do in my past. :)

Posting

uhurrmmm *clear throat*

Ish!

*Btw, boleh pulak buat announcement macam ni kan? Takpe, baru la senang kawan-kawan aku nak tau aku dapat posting kat mana kan. Korang mesti tanya jugak nanti kan..hurmm..*

Sangat monotone sekarang ni..

It lasts for a week in silence.

Well...

I got this superb news on last Friday. I was so grateful for the Merciful Allah listened to my prayers. I don't know why but I wanted this opportunity so much. After the Zohor prayer, I once again told Him things that I wanted. And this is one of the good things a human can ask from the Creator.

As I finished my prayer, I checked my mailbox. I had not checked it for days as it is usually a list of vacancies from JobStreet. Somehow, there's an urge in me telling me to check my mailbox on that day. There was a latest mail received - Re: additional information, sent today (Friday at 12.27 pm). I've dealt with the subject (additional information; twice. Hence I presumed that maybe they need something else this time). I opened it without expecting anything at all.

As I was reading the first line, I was gasping. My jaw dropped a bit, and my eyes was like popping out from the sockets. I looked ugly in that face. I had not finished reading the first line when my phone rang. An unfamiliar number appeared but I could guess the place of the call made by looking at the city codes. I was excited and couldn't even speak properly to the person on the other line. Yes, it's the HR of the place. He just got back from the Friday prayers, I presume as it was 2.30 pm. He called me as he saw no response followed his email to me. Like hello, you emailed me just before you went to the mosque. It was 2 hours back. I believed that he must too, be very happy with the news that he brought me. He's such a nice guy. We talked for a while, I listened to things that I'd just read the first line, and I asked permission to hung up. I just couldn't talk for I was so excited and my heart beat like I've just done my one big lap of jogging after years of not doing it. No, it's even faster. I told my mom, unbelievably, my sister and my father. When everything was in its place, I called the HR back to get more details regarding the offer. He told me, "you are now the new staff of MIMET." and I think he could hear me smiling all way long.

I did not tell anybody but my family about this happy news. Not even my friends, SailorBoy or anybody. I have no answer for why, here. But I think as I am writing, all the significant people whom I think deserve to know about my whereabouts are informed with this news either from me or my Facebook.

For that event,

I would like to thank Adib, Mun and Kakteng for accompanying me to the interview and also checking up the place. In which reminds me that I got a summon ticket for speeding in Manjung that was informed last night. Okay, and also to my mentor, Kak Sanisah for telling me to just write in to any colleges and university that I wish to work for. Or else, I wouldn't get the opportunity to be called for the interview in the first place even though there are several places that did not give any feedback towards my applications. And to our regular visitor at the office, En. Azhan for being such a daddy telling me these and that including all the relevant and irrelevant topics of life. Not to forget all my colleagues who had given sufficient guides regarding career path in this field. I am glad to be surrounded by generous people who never stop sharing and telling me the ups and downs, the dos and don'ts in this new world of mine.

Eh, this sounds like I've just received an award, huh? No no. Not just yet. This is the real beginning to me in stepping in this new path. I am not to see or even dream about the outcomes yet. All I have to do is, to start fresh for this coming new year.

Okay. I think that's all for tonight. I should be sleeping as tomorrow errr..2 - 3 hours from now, I need to get up for sahur. Yes, it's nearAwal Muharam. Puasa sunat. :)

Dang. I was already sleepy when I wanted to write this. This is bad. Niteynite!

Bye Bye Later

Things that I'm going to miss here :

1. The food. Nyummy!

2. The dirt cheap food. And services.

3. The places I went. And am about to go :P

4. The nymunny food.

5. The hassle free life.

6. The dirt cheap food.

7. The calm ambiance.

8. The best colleagues I have here.

My contract here is ending this month. By right, it ends during Raya Haji. Despite the well, maybe exaggerated inconvenience (to unleash the sissy mengada part of me), I have to admit, I love this place (this one is the real me. hehe). I love the moderate style of living here. Good places are around (still have time to explore, hopefully).

For now, we're doing our very own 'explorace'. I've only gone to few places - Kuala Kangsar, Teluk Batik, Manjung town, Lumut, Batu Gajah due to the time. Still looking for good places to go, tho. I only have 2 Saturdays left (excluding Raya Haji).

Life Imbroglio of Wan Elly

Well, I think I’m going to make this a custom – to have Tuesday blues.

This morning, while putting on make up and dressing up for work, it occurred in my mind that I’m turning into a negative person. I have no idea why did I say that about myself but I am no longer my old self. I would say that I am a positive person. I was born to be positive. I mean not 100% positive but I always managed to fake it until I feel it. There were times when I didn’t like things but I set my mind that it’s going to work well eventually and it did; or at least I felt okay about it. Even though it did not, still I could take it positively.

Somehow, that positive aura in me is decaying day by day. I become less positive each day. Why? It is not because of my bloody foundation keeps on spilling on my clothes every morning when I opened it. Even though that ruined my mood every morning a bit and yes, I cursed a little mild word about it. Well, not a good start of a day, I’d say.

It is not a wonder to me that someone can become negative about life. It could be things that happened not to be according to order, your supposition, and expectation for hundreds of times. But I wonder how one can make a total transition from negative attitudes about everything into positive when everything is not at all according to their expectation in which it is once upon a time was a big beef to them. I know few people with this ability. For example, a best buddy of mine, he was all negative about everything- life, food, events, yada yada yada. And he admired me for being so positive about everything. Everything to me was, “good!”, “Okay!” or “okay la..”, “relax” and whatnot. Now, he’s the one who tells me all those motivational remarks whenever I told him about my state. Luke, tell me how you did that.

I enjoy teaching. But sometimes I do resist to go to work. No, I’m not beefing about teaching. Wrong if you think I‘ve had enough of it. I have warm colleagues, good working environment, enthusiastic students, good place to stay with low cost of living in which I feel blessed for it.

But there’s one thing that I can never take it positively anymore. I think you can make a good guess about it. Yes. I’m not going to state it here as it'll brake the policy of privacy and confidentiality of a workplace (I learn this from 3R), even though I’ve told my friends about it. Haha!

Well, I think this is my life’s imbroglio for today. Now I am all hyped up to start marking!!!

I feel better so suddenly. =D

Oh, what an unbelievable mood swing!

Btw, Bobo, where’s my copy of the Secret? Sudah berbulan-bulan okei. I think I really need it now. Well, you know, just in case it happens again.

Tuesday Blues.

It is still drizzling outside. There's no sign of the sun coming up and to give me the energy. Ah, what a day. Sometimes I love rain. I love being in a car, driving in the drizzling rain, companied by the sound of R&B from the radio, alone or with someone else next to me. It has been a while and I miss that moment.

I didn't put on make up today. Just a slight colour of my Naturally Revealing and a few dabs of Berry Rich; to make it look innocently vibrant, coated with the Glossy Licious; minute dots of liquid blusher and that's it. I decided to have the bare eyes as I was so not in the mood for any outstanding features on my face. That is how actually my heart now.

I had a weird dream that I might consider it as a sign of my long thought last night before I managed to put my brain into hibernation. A short hibernation, to be exact. After two hours or so, I woke up of the dream for sahur. Having no appetite, I just had a piece of bread and a mug of coffee, alone and confused.

Here I am, in the office, trying to concentrate on my lesson plannings and well, marking the students' outlines. I know I need to try so hard to at least complete 60% of my tasks today as the weather is also not helping that much. And also the thought I had last night. It is about my life. "Am I doing the right thing?", "How my life is going to be for the next 4-6 months?", "Why should I have this thought, anyway?".

This is the Tuesday blues.

Transference

I notice that...after one month...

  • I have started nagging in class.
  • I have started showing my anger to my students (I dabbed the duster onto one of my students' face as he was talking when I was busy explaining).
  • I even started to feel like throwing away the textbook that I am holding when the students are talking in my class when they are not asked to.
  • I have started feeling tired like my whole body is aching; during weekend.
  • I have started to appreciate weekends more than I thought I would.
I felt guilty for dabbing the duster part but to my defense, he deserved that, didn't he?

Those changes connote that I am serious about my job, am I not?. If only those students are serious with their studies.

Btw, we still haven't gotten our first pay. How am I going to survive? I'm still alive and having enough of everything that is necessary, kudos to me.
Even though I still feel that I need more than that.

Oh, I love my life. I'm serious. Alhamdulillah.
I love living in Ipoh and Seri Is. Alhamdulillah. Eventhough sometimes I am immuned already with things that are offered in Seri Is.

But thanks to Adeb and Moon who are always making me happy.

And get to spend weekends in Ipoh is more than enough to me when there is nothing to do in Seri Is without the transportation and maybe, entertainment. Thanks to Moon and Kakteng for having me in.

P.S: Most probably we're going to the UTP Convo Fair tonight. New thing that Seri Iskandar has to offer. My mentor, whose husband is the staff there said there are many fun things that I might like there. Lets see how fun it is tonight.

Hallo. I'm Still Alive.

Hallo again...

It's been a while since my last post. I have nothing much to say here, I suppose; as I usually share everything with my lovely friends whom I get to laugh and be crazy together. Well, maybe I blog when I have nobody to tell my story to. For example right now, I am alone in my room, my roomate (mentor) has a morning class this morning; so do Adib and Moon whose classes are also at 8 a.m. And I, I have nothing today! My 9 a.m class is canceled for my students are scheduled to go for their site visit. Meanwhile, the meeting that was supposed to be in the afternoon was also canceled. Thus, here I am, alone, got nothing to do or maybe refuse to mark the essays as I am so damn sleepy and can't even think straight! And oh, I am hungry too!

But finally it is Friday. Fridays are always the most dearly day for those who are working. Well, sedar tak sedar dah sebulan kerja ni. Through out this one month, I am positive to say that I have changed a lot, in so many ways. I don't know where to start but the most obvious change is that I have started to send my clothes to the laundry for wash and yes, for ironing. Yes, all my baju kurungs for next week are at the laundry. Pemalas ke? No lah. I am too tired to stand there ironing my 5-7 outfits to work. I chose to do a marathon ironing as I realized that to iron every night is quite tedious and I might possibly change the plan to iron my clothes the next morning in which I am afraid I would wake up late. To play safe it is, I choose one night to stand there, ironing everything.

Food. During my first few weeks here, I was so amazed with the food here. I was thrilled to try different eating place and food as I am sure that they would taste good. Don't get me wrong. The food here is still good, delicious and nyummy. Maybe it is me who's getting bored of eating outside. I want to eat at home. Something that we cook ourselves. Okay, waiting for the first pay to get the stove and other home appliances. Cepatla gaji!

Adeh~ Laparnye! Oh, this weekend I'm going to Moon's nenek's house in Kuala Kangsar. She's taking me there to try the famous Laksa. I don't know how famous it is but the Perakians said it is nyummy. So, I am on again for food hunting! She's also taking me to see the beautiful Msjid Tunku Ubudiah. Just so you know, I am actually a big fan of art. I don't speak art, but I do appreciate it. I love monuments, buildings - modern and old. Sounds like I should have changed my major earlier. So I am looking forward to be there. I even heard in Tronoh itself there is one place where all the old buildings are located. That area is very old even a filming production chose that place for the setting. I shall try that place too.

Okay, it is almost 10 now. I am going for breakfirst with Moon after she finished her class. Today, I promise myself to plan my lessons for next week. (*puke!puke!*) I mean the whole week for next week. I am packed with replacement classes!! Adoyaiii!!

P.S: I love my job. I really do. I love my students. They are fun. eventhough ada yang perangai macam ta*i

New Life (style)

Oh, I'm starting a new life in Sri Iskandar.

This is the beginning of _____ .

We shall leave that blank empty. It's too early to say anything about it. Lets pray for the good good things okay.

But I'm in love with Ipoh, already. =)

But... INTEC or Sri Is?

Untitled

I'm happy knowing that all my friends are getting a job, going on interviews and at least have things to do.

As for me, I am still waiting for the posting list to be out in which I have no idea when. I do not even know exactly the procedure of the application of teaching posts. Like other jobs, we have interviews and whatnot following the application. However, as for school teachers, I'm not sure how it is conducted. I heard that the posts are confirmed. It is just the matter of time and places on when the list is coming out and where to. So, I shall just wait for that time.

Nonetheless, I still in need for job while waiting for the list to come out as it may takes 6 months from now. Or the latest would be this June, I'm not sure. I'm thinking of applying for tutors in colleges but I'm not sure if I can quit once the teaching placement is out. I need a temporary or contract job. For three to six months, maybe. But not all colleges are looking for part time or contract tutors. Yet I am looking.

I love teaching. Teaching is the profession where I think I can do my best. I don't see my potential in other lines but teaching. Or maybe I'm not sure about it. Even my former student during my practicum called me back to teach them as they think the teacher is not giving them enough practice as preparation for the SPM. I feel bad that I can't help them now but well, kids; they take things for granted sometimes. Hehs. Somehow, that gives me the force to keep on teaching. But of course I know that I can still learn and improve myself in other fields. I'd love to. And I believe it takes time and that I can discover it bits by bits while I work.

But the questions are,
Am I picky? Or am I afraid of challenges? Or am I lazy?

No, I don't think so. Challenges are everywhere and we ought to deal with it no matter how the condition is. But I know my potential and stuffs that I can do best and I don't want to waste it by having other unrelated jobs.

Or maybe I should just grab any opportunities that come. Who knows my hidden potential is there? However, I shall not jeopardize my my teaching post in schools.

Heh. Now I am unsure, lost.

But NTM sounds great. Ha ha! ;p

Information to Share

For my friends who are planning and have the guts to become a teacher, this might help you guys in directing your path. I've been messaging with Uncle MMM via Facebook about posting and whatnot. He is a Ketua Jabatan Bahasa at IPPM Melaka, a former TESL student with a MA. in Curriculum and Instructions. I hope I can share this with you guys. He suggested that I should apply for KPLI course at IPG (Inst. Pendidikan Guru) if I want to get posted. And I have always misunderstood the reasons why people apply for KPLI. Here's his answer:

KPLI is a kursus diploma Pendidikan for graduates. Many r graduates from local Us IPTAs n IPTS who just couldnt get work anywhere else (desperados - like u said) - and there r also genuine ones, who has always wanted to b teachers but couldnt do so.

Many of these are

1. Malay women who just couldnt get work anywhere bec they arent markettable - no proficiency in Eng, bertudung (i was told ptve owned Chinese based companies do not want these kinds - they want attractive ones in skirts wo tudungs) even tho they are qualified! Not plump graduates who hv no comm ability, not 'attractive', no social skills, etc.

2. and married graduates too - bec their husbs r not willing to hv wives who work long hours with private companies, and they want their degree holder wives to b at home, take care of kids, or and

3. those who just confused when they were younger - they just want to go to the universities bec their classmates/friends after SPM had been accepted to the universities - so they took/accepted ridiculous courses (4th or 5th choices) like B Sc (major in Maths or Major in Physics or Kimia) or B A (Revealed Knowledge, n Usuluddin n Bahasa Arab) or BA (Literature) n (English) and they found out that no companies or establishments out there want them!!! except Schools. and ptve schools want only with experience - not fresh graduates wo training!

Most are Malay women - they hv engineering degrees - but just could not cope with engineering job specs n responsibilities - masuk lubang 'tak nak!' kerja in the sun at work sites 'tak nak', or 'tak tahan'! Panjat tangga tak boleh!

So bec of their attitudes and bec of private companies only cared for profits, and bec universities hv not changed their courses to suit the needs of the present world, what is the govt to do?

Cant leave them to b unemployed? They might make bombs n join Al Qaeda? these r highly educated graduates kan? so, send them to Teacher Training Institutes - give them allowance of RM1500 pm n in a year they go to schools all over the country. Hopefully, many will be grateful and teach n become good teachers!See?

...So far, what say you?...

But not many non malays in teaching bec ptve owned chinese based n multinational companies take them - bec they wear skirts n mostly can speak english n mandarin....bec they do not want to apply to b teachers - promotion slow n mostly unattainable! 75-85% will stay as teachers sampai pencen - only a few get promotions to be GB or Pengetuas or Pen Kanans etc

Non Malays are more mobile, can marry late, can accept singledom more than Malay women, more adaptable, etc.

so, Malays arent mostly marketable in the real world kan?

U study hard and decide what u want to b Melly. U can choose the DPLI (offered by IPTAs) or KPLI (IPGs) or somethg else.Govt sch teachers are paid very well -most better than Ptve colleges... yearly increment in salary, long hols, by 3pm u r home, 5 day week, but working condition is not up to std, but they r improving.

Many prefer KPLI in IPGs bec of the allowance n the course content n the lecturers. IPTAs do not do this area very well.

Uncle MMM.
But don't worry. TESL graduates are not restricted to Education field only. PR sectors also demand for this course, as what have been said in the seminar la kan.

my mistakes and rude customers

i am new, of course i don't know EVERYthing at the hut. but i am more than willing to be scolded (nicely) or anything if i deserve it. afterall, it IS wrong when it is wrong. :)

1. i voided orders that has been sent to the kitchen. dang! it is WRONG. do
not do this when you are involving with oreders and machine. first, the customer
asked for large pizza. and punched in the order as (L). suddenly, she wanted to
change it to regular size. i went to the machine and void the (L) and keyed in
(R). the next time, she wanted to have large back. and i, went back to the
machine and void the (R) and keyed in the (L) again. that is totally wrong. we
can't void orders when it has been sent. it should be me, telling the customer
that nothing can be done becasue it is already punched in. hehehehehe....that
was my first big mistake and lesson, of course.

2. i keyed in double orders. soem of the tables in the hut are combined.
e.g. table 13 & 14 are considered as 1. 15&16, 17&18. so, when we
take orders, we must just take one number of table from the two. it is up to us.
and the runner would understand. i, i know and very clear about all those
things. it starts when the docket machine at the computer where i have keyed in
the orders was out of paper. so the dockets can't be printed. i asked the
manager about it and she said go ad do it again at another computer (tehre was 3
computers). i misunderstood the insruction. i thought she meant that i had to do
everything again. so, i went to another computer, and keyed in the orders again.
the table was 15&16. so it is considered as ONE table. the fisrt time, i
keyed in table 15 and the second tie was 16. it should be no problem with the
number of the table. BUT, my misinterpretation IS. what the manager meant was,
go and print it again at another computer. ngeh ngeh! my mistake is called
'double order'. it is a lost to a company. the other manager asked me to try my
best to suggest the same order next. it was Meal 4, breadstick change to garlic
bread. and lucky for me, the very next order that i took was asking for Meal 4,
CHANGE to garlic bread! see..i've reconciled everyting okayyy (the kitchen boy,
Wan made fun of it). and i even covered an order of a set for my friend tonight,
without fail (i suggested, and they bought it. my eloquence, i guess..)

at times, there are rude and snobbish customers that make a rude me.

1. last two nights, there was a pakcik with 4 children (the
children also need to be taguht about manners, i presume). in his order, there
was a criscut fries. to have the sauce (mayo + lime), you need to add rm1 and
tell the person who is taking your order. but this pakcik did not tell the crew
and suddenly called me, asking about the sauce. i asked the kitchen and he said
about the rm1 and asked me to asked the pakcik lah. and you know what he said?
"alaaaaah..bolehnya kita nak bayar..masukkan je lah dalam bil nanti.." mak
aih...muka macam
!@#$%^& je the moment he said that rude line. i was still smiling, get him the sauce and keyed in the order. and i overheard the ugly fat and not so pretty daughter (i think she is around 11-13 years old) said, "itupun nak kene ajar ke??" amboi amboi amboi...kau ingat kau pandai sangat??? SPM pun belum, nak biadab ngan orang (dalam hati je la kan). and as i was wiping the plates at the bar, he called me again, "eh..eh..takda sos ke?? ke kene bayar jugak??" amboih!!! kau pehal nak tambah-tambah line yang belakang tu???. at that night, i was so angry that i showed my rude face. we are just following the procedures. bukannye itu kedai bapak aku ke, aku ke yang aku bole buat sesuka hati pun. and it happened that azie, the bartender that night forgot to make his son's mango tango. i was at the bar. and i asked azie to put the mango cordial more than is should. my intention was so that the son got home and suffer from diarrhea. hahahahaha!!! but of course we did not do that. azie just laughed upon that.

2. and last night, as we were so busy in the hut, there was one table
of pakcik(s) with ketayap(s), asking me as i walked pass their table sending
foods to other table. he said, "eh...mana barang ni tak sampai-sampai???". after
settling the other table's foods, i went to the machine to check the orders from
the pakci(s) table, to make sure that at least they got the soups as i can send
the soup first by referring to the listed orders. but my good and sacred inention
turned sour when i saw on the computer, it is said that "serve:3 minutes".
halllo pakcik!! kau baru je lepas 3 minit ambik order kat situ, takkan nak
sibuk-sibuk tanya dah kot. sabar lah!!!! bukannya boleh siapkan makanan guna
magic
. after that, i just ignored that table and went on with my other important
jobs..

see, people. when you go dine out at any restaurants, do consider the situation of the place and of course everybody involved. unless, the service is really surely defnitely damn lousy, then you can complain :)

my week-end

halloooooo~

it has been a few days since my last post!!! i can't believe that i could be this busy

(tired, actually).

well, i WAS so busy last week since my neighbour was having the kenduri, and of course, i lent a hand for the wedding. here are some of the pictures we snapped snapped on that day. i am yet to copy more pictures from my negihbour's son. thus, these are just from my phone...

haiseh!! i don't know what's wrong with blogger. my photoes couldn't be uploaded!! or is it my connection?? hurrmm..

by the way, i am proud to say that i made the sirih junjung for the bride's side!!! hahahahahah!!! i was the bidan terjun that night. after work at around 2.00 a.am, i just had my light dinner (okay, i think i'm putting on my weight since i take my meal after work, EVERY night), i straight away went to my neighbour's house as they asked for my help on the sirih junjung. i don't know how were they inspired to call me for that. and i, just gave it a shot. but of course i referred to a book before putting my hands on it. and waallla! they said it is lovely!! i mean, it looks like a sirih junjung lah. ngeh ngeh.

and by the way, i dropped my name tag in a drain today during my break. actually it is not my name tag. it is one of the kitchen boy whose name is WAN on the name tag in which the manager asked me to wear his since he needs me to do the service. and this WAN boy, he got two name tags and willing to lend it to me. and now what i've done to his name tag??? hahahahaha!!! the manager laughed when i told him tht i dropped the name tag in a drain.

but the bright side of it is, i got my own name tag!!! it is written 'TRAINEE, ELLY'. see??? there's a miracle there. but i promised Wan to get him a new name tag later.

haiseh!!!! i've been trying to upload photoes but it is in vain!

nevermind lah...

and i think i am so much improved in my job. now, i am not the bartender anymore. i am assigned to handle a section. there are 3 sections in the hut. A, B and C. C is the biggest section. usually, crews who are assigned section A will also have to take section B that makes it two sections. but, section C can be considered as a big section because the tables there are for 6 people. the customers on section C are from family, big group of friends, and those who want to hold a party. sometimes they combined 3 to 4 tables for themselves. that makes the order is big, long, expensive and to me, extra cautious, complicated and needs follow up. but most of the times, i could handle it. except for some mistakes that i've done with the punching. that is another case....
and oh! i met my coursemate, Roselina (i am not sure if i spell her name right). she was there with her family to celebrate her nephew's birthday! and my exschoolmate, another exschoolmate whom is now married (maybe) with my former school technician. hahaha! it was kind of funny when we meet people from our past, unexpectedly in a very unexpected condition that we will never thought of! me? pizza? hahahahaha!!!
hahaha!! at last!!!!
my sirih junjung. the base is based on the book. the upper decoration is my own copyright :D
yes, it is very simple but i made it!!!!
isk!! but just one picture?!!!
ape ni??
maybe some other time lah.

improvement at the closing

i finished at 1 a.m last night. it was so tiring, unlike last two nights where the hut was not this merrier. i even almost dropped 3 empty glasses while serving the customers. ffuuh!! they did not break, thank God!!! hahaha! tapi malu laa~...

i think i can do the bar closing myself. it is just that i need someone stronger to lift up the 20 litres boxes of fizzy drinks. even though i can consider myself as a strong girl at the bar, i know i can't handle the boxes.

after closing the bar, i helped Hafiz to wipe the cutlery...
this is Hafiz, wiping the cutlery. a candid snap for him.
the bar. i washed all those glasses and slot them on the rack! kecut dah jari jemari ini.
my territory for almost a week.
view from the bar. at night the hut becomes a showroom for the motorcycles. i think the one who is on the table is Rusdi, and the one who is standing outside is Riezal. i did not get to have their close up photo because they were so busy moving the bikes into the hut.
by the way, Rusdi was accepted to further his study at Politeknik in electrical engineering!
i am so happy for him. he is a good boy and i am sure a good son too :D
the plates settings ready for tomorrow morning.
and by the way, starting tomorrow, i don't have to put on my white uniform anymore. there was one extra brown uniform since kak Cam resigned from the hut. so i got her uniform. plus, it fits me very well. i am so sorry about her leaving the hut. but that is her choice.
p.s: asalkan takda orang cari pasal ngan aku, takpe. kau buat kerja kau, aku buat kerja aku...
i need to rest~nitenite!! tomorrow is another day at 6 p.m.
i love my job!! (self motivation)

tiring night

i got home at 12.30a.m last night.

the hut was not that busy.

the bar was not that tiring.

but the closing was so complicated. we had to do this and that. we had to empty all the containers, the ice tank, move all the things on the bar, wipe it and let it dry etc. etc.

i had to scrub the floor at the bar and dried the water since that was my territory.

but thank god that i had Riezal to help me. he was such a kind and helpful gentleman. :)
we did the bar together :)

he has been so helpful and so sweet!!

i wouldn't know what would happen to me if he was not there.

thanks to Rusdi and Hafiz too. :)

love you guys!!!

and the drama...i think now i got the theory. it's all about combination.
peanut butter just can't mix with mayonnaise. even though both are yummy alone, they are just not good and that yummy together.

last night, there was no entertainment at the hut, and i found my heart and mind are at peace (other than my ignorance).

and i heard that kak Camellia did not come to work yesterday. rumors says that she had a quarrel with that 'model' last two nights. i am yet to dig in. and, i think one of the reason that i was not annoyed last night was because the 'model' worked in the kitchen last night. no wonder it was such a tranquil out there...

and guess what?? it is my day off again!! last sunday is the day off for last week. and for this week, it is tuesday.

p.s: i am sleepy and tired. but i am hungry too. and i need something hot. thus, i cooked myself rice porridge, yummy!

worse

i received an sms from kak Camellia just now.

she's planning to resign from that hut.
she feels insulted by the stupidos.
(i know it because i heard it how they talked behind her back and on her face, sarcastically)
that's rude.

you know why?? because kak Camellia has a diploma in Hotel Management, from UiTM.
thus, all these serving thingy is part of her life. she knows how to serve customer at the very best, unlike those stupidos. maybe they just can't accept the fact that she is better than they are, in all aspects. damn morrons!!

i guess it tells everything about them.

and i...

one day off!

i'm glad that i'm having a day off tomorrow.

i don't have to look at those negative auras faces at work.

i don't have to pretend.

but...

i have new sets of assignment papers to be translated. they just gave me the paper this evening.

but nevermind, express income! :)

kaching!! ching! ;)

p.s: mulut jahat lately :P
