hospital

today, my sister and i went to hospital USM for medical check. we have never been to a hospital getting a treatment, not even as an outpatient. but today we did! for the first time ever! (that's the real intention. we just want to experience it. since my sister is free now (she resigned from her current work yesterday), we can do so many things together. (and we're planning for a dentist, nak cuci gigi). ok, back to my point.

we spent about 3 hours there waiting for our turn. i thought once the number is called, we will straight away see the doctor. instead, it is a call for another turn before entering the doctor's room. okay, let me tell you this (i just knew it. heheh). there are 4 digits in the number. for example, mine is 0822. the two front numbers are the number of the clinic that we're going to receive the treatment. the last two number is the number of our turn for the clinic. so, my clinic is number 8, and my turn is the 22nd patient. hoih. therefore, i just waited and waited and killed 1 hour there. one thing i noticed, all the people who are waiting look sick and stressed (maybe because of their sickness). but my sister and i are the only two person who seemed so happy waiting there. we were chatting and giggling and once we noticed that, we played mellow for a while. (but we were there to have an eye check for my sister. she has keratoconus and i, my sinus problem)

but i felt a rush of sympathy watching the elderlies who are really really old. it's a good thing that they are still able to walk and all. but i don't know, i just feel touched whenever i watch this kind of phenomenon because it reminds me of my parents, when they are getting older. and even myself when i AM old.

the bench that i sat is in front of a vending machine. it has been a long time since i bought things from a vending machine. i remember, one vending machine that i feel is the greatest invention of vending machines when i was eight, is the tissue vending machine in my primary school,
Abu Bakar School.click!
(i found this by accident and was so excited viewing and comparing it with my time)

the price of a canned drink from the vendor is just RM1.40. and i was entertained by two kids (a sister and little brother) who wanted to by drink from the machine. they are so cute. the brother wanted to insert coins into the slot. so the sister asked the brother to gone through a test first. she asked him to raise up his hand pretending that he is inserting the coins (because i saw no coins in his hand) and see if he could reach the slot. he did, and the sister said (in a considering manner) "eerrm..okay!" and let the brother inserted all the coins. he pressed the button of a drink he desired and "gebangg!" the drink fell into the collector. i always love the sound. and i wonder, how does it happen so fast. i mean, the moment you press the button, the drink cam out! when i was a kid, i believed that (in any machine) there was a lady doing all the works (ATM, vending machine, etc.)

i google-ed around for the answers but none satisfied me.

know your vending machine.click!

i wish to know or maybe see with my own eyes on how the gear or anything inside pushes the items and dispense it. hurrmm...

so far, i can only came out with this..

guess that's the answer for my wonder.
